Check the WiFi network

The first thing you need to do when you are unable to cast from the Oculus Quest 2 is to check the network. If your Oculus headset and the device you are trying to cast to are not connected to the same Wifi network, you will likely face issues with casting. Make sure this condition is satisfied before you go ahead and try to cast the virtual reality games. It could be a temporary glitch

This could be one of the main reasons why you are not able to cast from your VR headset.  Like all technology devices, your Oculus Quest 2 may also suffer from technical glitches from time to time. But, it’s nothing alarming. Sometimes, the RAM on your headset can get clogged up creating some coding error. This issue can be easily fixed by restarting your headset.

Your app doesn’t support casting

This is something a lot of Oculus users miss to take note of. Not every single app available on the Oculus Quest 2 doesn’t support casting. You can identify if a particular app supports casting by looking at the app page. If you are still not sure, you can google the app and find out if it supports casting. For this issue, there is nothing much we can do. The app may include casting in its future enhancements.

Make sure Bluetooth/ Location is turned on

Almost all the apps on your Oculus VR headset will pass through the Oculus app. In order for casting to work make sure both Bluetooth and Location settings are turned on. If not, casting will never work! When you load Oculus Quest 2 for the first time, it will ask you to enable Bluetooth. If you do not enable Bluetooth the first time, you will be required to enable it via Settings later.

After enabling Bluetooth and Location, try casting from your headset.

Try casting to different devices

If you have been trying to cast to the same device and are still facing the issue, it’s time to switch things up a bit. You can try and cast from your Oculus Quest 2 to a few other devices at your home. If the casting works in any of the other devices, the issue is likely with the other device you have been trying to cast to.

This step will greatly help you in narrowing out your issue so you can easily find the suitable fix.
